Two rail lines and 19 bus routes allow customers traveling after midnight and before 5 a.m. to reach neighborhoods in Chicago, Cicero, Evanston, Forest Park, Oak Park and Rosemont. Complementing these routes are CTA’s other rail lines, most of which operate until after midnight, and numerous bus routes that operate until as late as 2 a.m. CTA Night Owl routes provide mobility to early morning workers, late-night travelers or anyone who needs to get around during off-peak hours. Bus Routes Night Owl bus routes are designated by the Night Owl symbol on bus stop signs, a letter ‘N’ designation before the route number on the bus destination sign and in the ‘First Bus/Last Bus Times’ section of the CTA Bus & Rail Map.
